Joel’s call to action focuses on consecration! He illustrates that if we want to break through the mundane, casual, and complacent relationship with God, there is a responsibility that comes with that relationship. First, We MUST be sanctified! Then, We MUST be unified (solemn assembly). Finally, We MUST position ourselves to invite others into what God has called us to (gather ALL the inhabitants). Joel stresses the importance of preparing for the greatest move of God, the world has ever seen(Joel 2). It all starts with a Fast that is taken seriously, by the people called to do it!
